Hosein is one of the most innocent, child like characters I have ever met and Imran and I were
privileged when he fearlessly bowled into a police station looking to help us, complete strangers, after he heard we had been robbed, at which point he was nearly arrested. Hosein and his friends looking after us for days, taking us sight seeing and they insisted on paying for everything.
I am still in shock after reading the following:
"Iranian cycle tourist to take detention case to ICJ Tue Dec 31, 2013 6:23PM GMT 3 13 1 Saman Kojouri, Press TV, Tehran Download | Embed Hossien Gharedaqi is a simple teacher, who is also a professional cycle tourist. He lives in a remote village in northwest of Iran. But his latest tour handed him a memory which he would never forget. During his recent tour of the United Arab Emirates he was detained and imprisoned on allegations of espionage activities. He says he was kept in jail for 78 days in the subhuman conditions with no access to basic needs. This comes as Hossien Ghare daghi travels to different countries with the message of peace and friendship for the world. Although Hossein has now been freed, the Iranian foreign ministry says it is still following up the case through diplomatic channels. The accusation of espionage seems to have become an instrument in the hands of certain countries to put ordinary nationals of other countries in prison for a period of time. This comes Iran has always treated foreign prisoners inside the country through Islamic clemency and in return expects other countries to respect its nationals in different conditions."
